Overview

$21.53- $23.15 DOE 

 

Provides security and promotes good community relationships in and around the Parish Center.  Monitors guest behaviors and ensures all policies and procedures are followed.  Provides information and referral services to guests and other homeless individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests coming into the court yard to wait for the lunch and directs them to the waiting area.
  • Monitors behaviors in and around the Parish Center and assures policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Contacts people loitering in the alley or immediate area and explains and enforces agency policy regarding loitering.
  • Provides information and referral services to guests and homeless individuals.
  • Patrols alleys, courtyard, stairs, entry, and hall to ensure the safety of guests, residents, and businesses.
  • Makes contact with businesses in the patrol area to form and maintain positive community relations.
  • Coordinates with CCS for back up to deal with challenging situations.
  • Coordinates with staff that is monitoring the security cameras.
  • Utilizes the Aberdeen Police Department as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Applicant must successful pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment.
  • Proof of negative TB test within 12 months.
  • Ability to be compassionate, nonjudgmental.
  • Set Clear boundaries.
  • Work with diverse population including people with active mental health and chemical dependency issues.
  • Be a positive and proactive team member.
  • Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.
  • Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
